    • Is VermillionMVT appropriate for any size of fleet? Yes it is. It can be used for one vehicle upwards.
    • How would my company benefit from using VermillionMVT? Using vehicle tracking, you can monitor vehicle activity in real time and access vehicle management information. Some of the many benefits include increased productivity and efficiency, verification of hours worked, provide proof of service, reducing your fuel costs and carbon footprint, as well as helping to address Duty Of Care obligations. Please also see our page on benefits by clicking here
    • What happens after my contract period ends? Depending on the nature of your contract, you have the option to continue to use the service at a reduced charge. If required, these options can be discussed and confirmed with you prior to you entering into a service/contract period.
    • How long does it take to install the hardware? An average vehicle installation takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
    • Are there any additional costs such as SIM cards, communication costs or report fees? There are no hidden charges in the price quoted to you. VermillionMVT is proud to offer a clear, affordable and inclusive package price. More information can be found on our pricing page
    • When and where can you install the hardware? Vermillion MVT's installation engineers are placed around the UK and can install the devices in your vehicles at at time and location that is convenient to you, including evenings and weekends, even when vehicles are not being used.
    • How reliable is the signal from the unit - any black spots? In the event that a driver is located in or passing through a low network coverage area, all the data from the unit is stored internally and communicated in full once the driver re-enters an area of coverage. No data is lost when this happens.
    • Can drivers find and remove the tracking units? The tracking device is covertly installed, usually behind the vehicle dashboard, and is therefore not visible to the driver or anyone else entering the vehicle.
    • Can I see how long a vehicle has stopped at a particular place? VermillionMVT records whether the vehicle's ignition is switched on or off and provides a “Snail Trail” and other detailed reporting showing exact speeds, including idling.
    • Can I get an immediate alert every time drivers exceed speed limits or drive off route? You can set alerts to notify you when vehicles exceed speed limits. Also, VermillionMVT offers a “Geofence” feature which alerts you whenever a vehicle enters or leaves certain geographic locations. For example, when a driver reaches a point 2 miles away from the depot, you can trigger an alert to ensure that the next load is ready to leave.
    • Can I see what route(s) a driver takes? Vermillion mapping displays a “Snail Trail” of routes taken by vehicles in the system. Simply select the times you wish the report to include and a graphics image will be produced for the entire journey.
    • What details am I given on my tracking reports? Reports are set up by you to give you the right information for your business. The examined data in the reports includes the driver's start time, end time, total hours driven, idle time, parked time and distance driven, plus any defined exceptions you may have set such as exceeding speed limits, moving outside of a given area, or out-of-hours activity.
    • Will the map become out of date? No. The map is hosted online and is updated on a regular basis with new roads, place names, satellite images and even photographic birds eye views.
    • How often can I get reports? Reports can be generated as often as you like, either at your convenience or you can produce scheduled reports in a spreadsheet format. These are automatically e-mailed to your e-mail according to the schedule you have selected..
    • How often does the system update/refresh? The VermillionMVT hardware unit updates itself and sends data to the servers every 300 metres of distance travelled, but can, if required, send the information more frequently. The map therefore displays a near real-time picture of where all your vehicles are at any point in time.
    • What is GPRS? GPS (Global Positioning System) is a constellation of orbiting satellites originally developed by the US military, initially as a military navigation system that was later made available for everyone. A GPS receiver locates 4 or more of these satellites and uses the information to determine its own location. Vermillion utilises this technology to accurately track and locate your vehicles.
    • Who installs the equipment in the vehicle? Unlike many other vehicle tracking companies, VermillionMVT has its own team of installation engineers. The installation is therefore fully insured and guarantees an installation of high quality every time.
    • Is the service fully warranted? Yes it is. We warrant our units for the life of your contract – a service which is provided within the price you have paid – and at no additional charge.
    • How much does it cost? VermillionMVT designs and manufactures its own systems and software so the costs are probably the lowest available in the UK. Prices are based on the size of your fleet and range from just 44p per unit per day - with no extras. For more information, please see our pricing page (ADD LINK).
    • Can I get weekly reports from the system? You can request reports from the system as often as you want. The information is provided immediately after you set the parameters for the required dates and monitored vehicles.
    • How accurate is it? VermillionVMT is highly accurate as it uses the Global Position System (GPS) network which normally locates the vehicle's position to within a few metres. VermillionMVT maps use this position to display the vehicle down to street level, even displaying satellite imagery, if required, as an additional benefit for you.
    • How many of my staff will be able to access the system? That is up to you. You can determine who you allocate individual login details to as it is a web-based solution. There is no additional cost for adding or removing extra users onto your system and gives you full flexibility to add or remove staff.
    • Where can I access my tracked vehicles? From any computer that has internet access. Simply use your usual web browser to access the secure section of our website, and after successfully entering your unique login details you will be able to see and locate your vehicles, monitor their progress and run detailed reports.
    • Do I need to install any specialist software? All the information is held and managed on secure VermillionMVT servers, so all you need to do is access our website using your computer. Access to the mapping system can be gained from any Internet-ready computer device by using your secure login. No additional software is required.
    • How does the VermillionMVT tracking system work? Vermillion installs its own UK designed and manufactured units covertly in your vehicles which communicate detailed positioning information (GPS) to secure servers. Your vehicle information is displayed on our in-house secure web-based mapping system so that you can see exactly where your vehicles are, if the ignition is switched on or off, which direction they are travelling and precisely what speed they are doing.
