Vermillion MVT All of VermillionMVT's hardware is manufactured in-house which ensures the great quality of the product as we have complete control of the production process. VermillionMVT has conducted thorough research in order to produce this state-of-the-art hardware solution that keeps your business at the forefront of its market. We have the ability to immediately change and /or adapt all of our solutions so that we can be responsive to customers' requirements.
Our hardware has been thoroughly tried and tested and we provide your company with a full warranty of the hardware for the duration of your contract. In the last 4 years, only ONE of our units has needed replacement (due to water damage that also affected the vehicle's ignition and dashboard).
The newest technology ensures that we are keeping you ahead of the competition. Our qualified engineers will fit the hardware to your company fleet at a time and place that suits you so your business operation will have minimal disruption.
The hardware will prove the following information, through tying into the CAN BUS an OBDII:
The best method for gathering accurate data can be acquired by using EOBD. However, EOBD is complicated due to the number of connections and protocols each manufacturer can use. EOBD is a far more sophisticated monitoring system than OBD and uses a “map” of expected sensor inputs based on engine operating conditions, and components are empirically calibrated to the system. As such, replacements parts will need to be of high quality and may need to be specific to the vehicle and model.
The following information can be acquired from our hardware:
Idling Time: Idling time is easily calculated by acquiring information on vehicles' ignition status and GPS speed.
Drive Time: Drive time is easily calculated by acquiring information on vehicles' ignition status and GPS speed.
Vehicle Speed: Vehicle speed is determined directly from the GPS module. Most such modules' output data at 1hz, and the GPS speed therefore exhibits some lag yet this is not expected to be prohibitive.
Incidents of Speeding: As stated above, acquiring the speed of a vehicle will be made possible by the GPS module. However, if a vehicle is “speeding” some additional form of server side geo-location speed database is required.
Harsh Breaking/Harsh Acceleration: The monitoring of both harsh breaking and acceleration will be achieved by the addition of a 3-Axis accelerometer, and VermillionMVT has acquired a product that meets our strict requirements of quality and functionality.
The seven requirements above are easily achievable, and the last three below features can be integrated into the system on request.
MPG: In order to measure MPG, information on fuel levels is required – ideally by having the driver input information and adding fuel via a touch LCD screen, or by means of an operator providing data input from fuel receipts. Without this, information on MPG will not be achievable.
Over Revving: This requirement is not achievable without an extended time-limit and/or additional bespoke hardware or OBD availability.
Number of Gear Changes: This requirement is not achievable without an extended time-limit and/or additional bespoke hardware or OBD availability.
